The Motorhome and Caravan show, NEC Birmingham 2013

The team attended the Motorhome and Caravan show on the 18th October 2013. Based in NEC Birmingham, the show featured the new touring caravan models for 2014. UK and European leading manufacturers, dealers and importers showcased their new offerings.

Glossop Caravans, who are one of our partner suppliers, were also there. Manager Lee Sivins was very enthusiastic about the show, and told our team:
“It certainly is a very good show this year. Lots of business... Glossop Caravans has now been around for 39 years, it started off with 1 caravan and now it sells more than 7000 a year. We’ve been exporting for 2 years now, to Sudan, Mongolia, Australia, New Zealand, Russia and East Europe”.

Manufacturers such as Bailey, Lunar, Elddis and the Swift Group, to name just a few, launched many of their new editions of UK caravans during the show, as well as their latest models of motorhomes, across five huge halls.

It wasn’t only the well known manufacturers that caught our eye: for instance, the Dub Box vintage caravans in all their originality definitely stood out of the crowd. The team particularly liked the retro models like the one pictured on the side.

We took a trip down memory lane, with this model of classic caravan displayed at the show. The interiors looked like grandma’s living room, but we still liked it. With a huge panel saying: DO NOT TOUCH!

We stopped for a while to look at the new caravan models that were wheelchair accessible:

We’re sure our fellow readers would be pleased to know that there are no limitations to caravanning.  Even our pal the orangutan seems comfy.

All in all, the team had an excellent time and we’re looking forward to next year’s edition!
