There are no changes in the top three exporting countries of used vehicles. Japan continues to be the main supplier for New Zealand and it has regained market share – reaching 93.4% last February.

Australia exported 538 cars which shows a rise of 93 units compared to February 2016, which amounted 445 cars. Australia has increased its market share from 3.4% to 3.9%

At the third place comes Great Britain exporting 174 cars in February. In comparison to last year, when only 39 used cars were shipped to New Zealand, there has been an increase of 364.1%. Even though there was a rise to last year’s figures, February shows a decrease of 99 cars imported to January’s numbers. This is most likely due to the fact that cars that are imported from the UK are high-end vehicles, late models and only suit a specific type of buyer in New Zealand.
