The number of used cars imported into New Zealand has decreased in July by 15.7% - 11,268 units compared to 13,639 units in June. This month’s total was also lower than last July with 11,944 units imported.
The number of used vehicles imported in New Zealand has increased gradually in June by 8.09%, reaching a total of 13,639 units. These have been the best June import figures within the last three years.
The used imported passenger vehicles into New Zealand dropped in May 2016.
The London Motor Show has been held at the Battersea Evolution Centre from the 6th to the 8th May. The 2016 London Motor Show presented some of the latest models from the world’s top car brands.
The New Zealand Customs announced earlier this month that 18,133 used passenger vehicles entered New Zealand in April 2016. The number of 18,133 units is a record-breaking month for the last 10 years at least and more than 10% up on the highest previous month, which was May 2014 with 16,450 units imported in New Zealand. Hence, some in the industry are questioning the numbers reported.
During the previous month there has been a slight increase in used imported passenger vehicles in New Zealand. The figures show a total of 13,016 used imported passenger vehicles in March which means 1,044 units more than in February.
This type of vehicles will obviously play a significant role in the make-up of our vehicles fleet in the future.
In February the used car imports raised strictly compare to January with a total of 11,972 used passenger vehicles entering the country.
