How do I obtain a quotation?

Simply click "Get a Quote" on the main page and the system will guide you through a simple process. Don't hesitate to contact us if you are stuck on something - we are always happy to assist.

How long is the quote valid for?

All quotations are valid for 30 calendar days unless specified otherwise. On rare occasions, rates and surcharges quoted may change without notice due to fluctuations in world currencies.

However, there are various additional services you can include in your request, which would be specified in the final quote output. 

 

What does the quotation include?

By default, our quotations include receiving your vehicle at a specified depot, loading it to container and shipping up to arrival destination port with destination charges to be paid at destination.


Can you collect my vehicle from anywhere?

Our network of reputable car transporters allows us to arrange collection from anywhere in the UK or even other European countries if required.


How far ahead should I schedule my pick-up?

If you require collection on a certain date at a certain time please allow several days lead time for us to make sure it is arranged as requested.


Can you store my vehicle until I am ready to ship?

Many countries will require your presence to clear your vehicle through customs and sometimes you or your customer would not want to receive the car at destination too soon.

We can therefore store it in our depot prior to shipment and schedule the shipment to arrive at destination at a required time - please contact us to discuss storage arrangements and a possible shipping plan.

 

Can you offer insurance?

We can. Please tick the box "Marine Transit Insurance" when requesting a quotation and we will revert with a competitive premium rate.

In some cases we will refer you directly to our insurance broker if we feel they are better positioned to assist.

 

 Isn't my cargo automatically insured?

No. Whilst the majority of cargo arrives safely at its destination, marine vessel casualties occur on a daily basis resulting in goods delay, damage or loss.

We strongly advise and remind all customers, in the interest of prudence that they take out all risks marine insurance covering the full value of their shipment.

If you require insurance for your vehicle of any other goods you intend to send, please confirm this with us as soon as possible, preferably before goods have been collected from supplier premises.


Do you ship motorcycles?

We do. Also trucks, trailers and even boats. Just ask for a quote and will work out a shipping option for you.


Am I allowed to ship personal effects inside the vehicle?

That depends on the mode of transport you have chosen. For RoRo and Air Freight this is normally not allowed, however if you request container option you can ship additional cargo both inside and outside of the vehicle. However, please always check with us before you decide to ship anything in addition to what you have informed us about, as there will be additional charges and certain restrictions to consider.

Personal effects need to be properly packed in order to be acceptable for shipping.


How do I proceed with a booking?

Once a quotation has been prepared, you can go to your personal page on our website and click "Booking". The system will then take you through a couple of simple stages to gather the information required and clarify the additional services you may need.


Will I have to pay VAT on shipping costs?

Shipping costs are exempt from VAT if the ultimate destination is outside of the EU. VAT only applies if the cargo is shipped to a country within the EU.


When do I pay for my shipment?

From the moment we receive your cargo until it arrives at destination you will have approximately 30 days to pay our bill.

This gives you time to arrange the payment, whether you prepay destination costs or arrange them locally.

Payment must be settled before the container arrives at destination.

This is crucial as delaying the payment will unfortunately result in additional charges i.e. storage and additional charges for late payment.


What documentation do you require?

We would normally require either a commercial invoice or inventory list of personal effects for customs clearance purposes.

For cars and motorhomes we would also need a copy of registration documents as proof of ownership.


What happens after the shipment has sailed?

Within 2 working days from sailing date you will receive a complete set of shipping documents and tracking details for your consignment. The same will also be made available for you online on our website.


Can I track my shipment online?

You certainly can. Simply go to your personal page on the website and click "Where is my shipment now?" against the consignment you are interested in.


What happens when the vehicle arrives at the destination?

Within one week prior to shipment's arrival at destination our overseas partner will contact the party you have specified as consignee at the time of booking and discuss customs clearance and other local arrangements. Based on your and consignee's instructions, vehicles can be either made available for collection at a dedicated depot or delivered to a location requested. Unless you have chosen to include destination charges in your shipping price, destination fees will be charged by our partner overseas to the consignee.


What do I do if there is a problem?

Contact us immediately by either phone or email and we will get it sorted as soon as possible.

 

Can I reclaim VAT on a vehicle?

Together with our partner UMS we are able to assist, for a 1.5% fee of the Gross Vehicle price, with the recovery of VAT element on qualifying vehicles.

Additional terms need to be agreed to and also strict guidelines must be followed.
